Small in height, but large at heart, Amy is an active 24 year old going through a hippy shake due to congenital hip dysplasia. She has two (three found during the operation) tears in her acetabular labrum, and a late onset of hip dysplasia that has caused much pain in her lower back during exercise, and daily life.

This blog is being kept to keep her family and friends in the loop, and to provide awareness and strength to those who may have similar health problems.

Amy is undertaking two operations (possibly three) to bring back her hip to “normal.”

Hip Arthroscope – to repair the labral tears.

Periacetabular Osteotomy – to realign the hip socket and femoral bone.
